FreiBuddy. The Serious Game on Jewish life in Freiburg // AR-tour

"Explore the city with new eyes" is the motto of the FreiBuddy app from the emerging Dokumentationszentrum Nationalsozialismus of the Städtische Museen Freiburg. Using your own or borrowed mobile devices, you can go on an interactive augmented reality (AR) tour. Three routes and encounters with different characters offer a variety of insights into the past and present of Jewish life in Freiburg.

Serious games allow a playful approach to real-life situations. AR technology ensures that users are immersed in a world of their own. FreiBuddy invites users to reflect on living together in urban society.

The app is the result of a participatory project funded by the Stiftung Erinnerung, Verantwortung, Zukunft. It is accompanied by an educational offer, made possible by funds from the Landeszentrale für politische Bildung Baden-Würrtemberg.
